Master of Arts in Educational Technology
Annotated Transcript
I am currently enrolled in CEP 807. The course is designed as the final step before completing the Masters' program. I am building an online portfolio, which you are currently viewing, to showcase my work as a MAET student. At the end of this course, myself and my classmates will have an organized, professional portfolio displaying or work throughout the program. I am really enjoying this course, as it has required me to reflect back on my experience as a student at MSU.
I have began my journey through CEP 815, Technology and Leadership, this summer semester. The course is focused on integrating technology into teaching and learning through a leadership role. The course introduces students to different leadership roles and the relationship these roles have with educational technology. This course has requires me to think differently than I normally do. I have not taken a course in the past that has required me to put my self in a leadership role outside of a classroom. I have really enjoyed studying leadership styles and the influence of leadership in educational technology.

CEP 820, Teaching Students Online, was a very informative course on teaching students outside the traditional classroom. The course focused on ways to reach students through an online platform. CEP 820 requires students to create an online platform for teaching a course, ourselves. I created a high school digital arts class on Haiku. Haiku is an online digital learning platform for teachers and students. I found CEP 820 to be a very practical course, that better prepared me to teach students online, as stated in the title. It really does just that, after the completion of the course I felt confident that I am capable of successfully teaching online.
TE 846
Accommodating Differences in Literacy Learners C. Waldon TE 846 was a required course to renew my Michigan teaching certificate. The course is titled Accommodating Differences in Literacy Learners. Within this course I worked one on one with a kindergarten student on developing phonetic skills and awareness. I created a case study to show the progress and results of my time spent with the student. We also studied various data supported literacy instructions throughout the course, to better our literacy practices within our classrooms.

Learning in School and Other Settings, CEP 800, was a course that focused on making meaningful connections when integrating technology into learning. In the course I developed a podcast, a digital storytelling presentation and a meaningful lesson that successfully integrates technology to enhance learning. You can view a portion of my work from CEP 800 here. I really enjoyed this course and the work that I created during the course, one lesson I created from CEP 800 I continue to use in my classroom and find continued success.
CEP 818 is a course designed on increasing creativity into teaching. The course implemented seven cognitive tools that can alter the teaching and learning inside your classroom to promote more creative students. The seven tools are: perceiving, patterning, abstracting, embodied thinking, modeling, playing & synthesizing. If you follow the link here, you can view my coursework from CEP 818. Creativity in Teaching and Learning was a very intriguing course for me. I was drawn to the course as an art teacher I love creativity. I found the course required me to expand my thinking about creativity and how it can implement in my teaching and the students' learning. I thought I knew about being creative, but CEP 818 opened my eyes to a whole new world of creativity in the classroom.

CEP 822 is designed to enhance research skills while exploring alternatives to traditional educational research. You can view my Research in Action bibliography here. CEP 822 required me to find research and findings on practical topics in educational technology. I was thankful that I was able to choose a topic that related to my subject matter and interests. I was able to research art education and how Web 2.0 and educational technology can impact the art classroom.
CEP 812 is the final course to the Educational Technology certificate program. The course is designed to have students focus on a wide range of technologies and be able to use technologies to solve educational problems. A majority of the course is the Wicked Problem Project, in which students take an educational need in their classroom and develop a solution within educational technology. You can view my Wicked Problem Project here. The course also requires students to create a Personal Learning Plan, in which they map out their goals and objectives for their own education as well as working online with classmates to produce a presentation.

CEP 811 builds on the knowledge learned in CEP 810. Throughout my CEP 811 course, Adapting Innovative Technology to Education I learned about effective strategies to implement when integrating technology. The instructional design principles process had me re-evaluate my lessons for optimal goal-directed teaching focusing on motivation, socialization, audience and technology needs. An example of a revised lesson plan from this course can be seen here. CEP 811 was one of my courses during my first semester at MSU. CEP 811 along with 810 are the courses that made me fall in love with educational technology and decide to pursue the program.
CEP 810 is the first course in the Educational Technology Certificate Program. The course covers five basic topics as a building block for the rest of the program. Some of the major areas covered are the TPACK, Personal Learning Networks and creating a professional blog/space to showcase coursework, which can be seen here. CEP 810 along with CEP 811, as mentioned, above are the first courses I took as a student at MSU. During and after completing the two course in the Fall of 2011 I was excited to bring new and exiting teaching methods into the art room and the school building.
